does anyone here work for progressive insurance? i need some help

these fuckers have ROYALLY fucking screwed me over

cliffs: 2 accidents, not my fault, can't get insured anywhere else now

details:
1st:
there was an accident on july 27 last year (some of you may remember the pics i posted)

here's how it went down:

S10 in front of me, F250 behind me, in left lane
lane to the right is open, lane to the left is *packed* (HOV lane)

S10 SLAMS on his brakes and locks 'em up and smokin'
this happens in about 3 seconds:
i hit my brakes, look left and see i can't go that way, look right and see it's open, so turn the wheel to get out of the lane
don't quite make it and his right rear bumper crushes my left front - takes out my hood and lights - and totally missed my bumper
about 1 second after we're stopped, the F250 hits me in the left rear - since i'm halfway out of the lane and he's not paying attention

the S10 guy and the F250 guy know/work with each other

friend comes around and takes pics and convinces me to get a ride to the er to get my neck checked
i get out of the er, cop comes up to me and give me a ticket for "improper lane change"
i wanted to strangle him, and i could have taken that scrawny bastard too
when that cop gave me the ticket for the "improper lane change", i asked him "if i had NOT tried to get out of the way and hit the truck straight on, i wouldn't have gotten a ticket then?"
he said "yes"
so, FUCK them twice, as he knows i wasn't trying to get between them, i was trying to get out

i fought the ticket in court and won, just about 2 weeks ago

fast forward 2 months

2nd:
oct 24th
let my foot off the brake in my 1 month old new (to me) car, blink, EMR guy sitting in passenger seat asking me if i'm ok
pics were posted, seems a dodge truck runs the light and slams into my driver's door
never saw it coming
his ins. co, my ins. co, and popo repo' says he's 100% at fault no questions

here's where i'm really staring to get pissed

just got a call from statefarm ins agt and he says i am "ineligible to be insured" with them, due to the jul27 where the cops reort says that i was trying to get inbetween them - which is total goddamn bullshit, and i was never asked by the cops what happened and this:
i'm told that MY INS. CO PAID OVER $1400 TO FIX THAT GUY'S TRUCK, WHICH "MEANS THAT YOUR INS. CO. ADMITS YOU ARE AT FAULT"

fuckers at prog. never said they were paying anything to that guy in the truck (and shouldn't have anyway), and now it shows on "choice point" as them paying to fix his truck

WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON HERE?

well your insurance need to fight it with progressive if the cops canback you up that it was the other person fault!

i dont like these "cheap" companys because they are reall bad when it comes to stuff like that, they are cheap when you 1st joing them but after a while your rate will go up.

what?

you're not understanding, i think

i have progressive, they're fucking me over by saying that the cop report, and the pics, and the statements by the other two all say i was trying to get IN to that lane, when i was infact trying to get OUT

who the fuck is stupid enough to get into a lane with a lot of cars when the lane theyr're in is (for the most part) clear?

Re: does anyone here work for progressive insurance? i need some help

this is how life should be.

regarding the first accident:

1) you got screwed by those dudes.
2) even so, your insurance company will always consider you at fault if you hit someone from behind. You were following too closely. It doesn't matter what the person in front does, you were too close. Even if you stop completely, and someone hits you from behind causing you to hit the person in front. It's not right, but that's how it works. By getting the cop to believe you caused the accident by changing lanes, they get your insurance to cover the dude that hit you. I was once involved in an accident that the cops said was 100% not my fault, but my insurance company paid out.

Were you convicted of anything in that first accident? You said you got off on the illegal lane change, but did they manage to pin anything else on you? How many tickets do you have on your record? A single accident usually isn't enough to cause a company to drop you, although these companies make their living by being dicks.

damn. did progressive drop you? Have you called them to find out what the hell they put on your record? I'm just a bit confused about why you're looking for new insurance, if you got dropped or if progressive just jacked your rates way up and you're looking for something cheaper.

$1400 doesn't seem like that big of a payout, especially not enough to cause you to be uninsurable. There's got to be something else on there that you don't know about. I had an accident where it cost over $3500 to fix my car and at least $1500 for the others, and all it did was make my premium go up. It went up quite a bit, but it certainly didn't make me uninsurable.

Something's up here. 1 accident, even an at-fault accident, shouldn't cause this problem.

hmm...I don't know enough about the inner workings of the insurance industry, but is there someone else here that could comment? Is it beyond the realm of possibility that an insurance company would jack someone's rates way up and then adjust their information to make them uninsurable elsewhere to force them to pay?
