Will insurance cover this? (pix included)

My GF smashed her car into a poll at her work place's parking lot. The damage is so much, that we can't afford to repair it at this time so i was wondering if her insurance will cover that. she has full insurance policy.
and if does, will her insurance go up next year b/c of it?

it's hard to see in these pixs, but the whole driver's side fender displaced + left side of the trunk stayes about 1 inch above the bumper

Re: Will insurance cover?

I don't see why her insurance wouldn't cover the damages, she should call them and find out all the details for herself. And depending on the insruance company her rates might in fact go up because of it. Any pictures?

Re: Will insurance cover?

you let your GF drive your car.... it takes years to trust a girl with a 10k diamond ring made of one of the strongest substances in the world that you cant easily force to lose all its value... and yet you gave your GF the keys to a 15-20k hunk of metal that goes 120 MPH where one false move will ruin its value... good job...

just messing with you, dont let peopel drive you car though seriously

Re: Will insurance cover this? (pix included)

I'd think the only thing to consider would be the cost of repair vs your deductible...if the cost of repair is maybe $200 over your deductible it's probably better to just fork over the extra two hundred and avoid your insurance company all together. This assumes you have a typical $500 deductible though.

I second that! (Especially unexperienced women)

And back on topic, I hope everything works out with the repairs.

probably the same way I backed into something once....you go in and out of the same parking lot every single day, and eventually you get complacent.

If her insurance doesn't cover it, then I would call them up and ask them what the hell you've been paying for because it obviously isn't car insurance (assuming her policy has coverage for damage to her own vehicle).

If they do cover it, and her premiums don't go up, the post the name of the company because I can think of a whole bunch of people on this forum that would switch companies in a second.

As Vince said...if it's only a bit more than the deductible to get it fixed, then just pay for it. No sense in causing her problems over a couple hundred bucks.

Insurance would cover it but she probably has a deductible, and then her rates would go up...for something small like that you are best to do without the insurance company.
