Jobs at a Mazda Dealership?

Hey guys...

OK- So the story goes as follows:

I'm currently 18 years old, a senior in HS (graduating in June) and looking for a part-time job. (Gas money, insurance, save for a 3, etc) Obviously, for a Mazda addict such as myself, our local Mazda dealer would be the ideal place to work. I sent them an e-mail asking about job opportunities just a half hour ago or so, they say they'll respond ASAP. I also applied to other places (retail stores, not dealerships), so I'm not placing all of my eggs in this one basket, but it would be nice, ya know?

My question to you guys is this: Do you think there are ANY chances at all of an 18-year old student getting a job at a dealer? I don't care how much I make and I don't care what the job is, really.

Thanks a bunch!

(I don't think this is a repost, but if it is, I'm really sorry).

Re: Jobs at a Mazda Dealership?

you can be a porter. My friend was a porter at a Toyota dealership. That just involves cleaning cars mostly, taking them for gas, etc. He was only 17 or 18.

Re: Jobs at a Mazda Dealership?

Ironically, yesterday, i was waiting for my mom to come pick me up after i dropped off my car for the PCM reflash, and this sales guy comes up and talks to me about the mazdaspeed 3 and 6. I corrected him on several technical specs, and he pulled out a business card that said "Isaac kmasdklasdna, Head Sales Manager".... he offered me a job right on the spot, i was pretty shocked. He took down my name and number, and he had asked me all of my schooling and previous jobs while we were standing around, i had no idea it was like an interview! So yea ill be calling him back next week for a 'formal' interview, who knows maybe i get the job!

I now own a 2008 350z Base MT

Re: Jobs at a Mazda Dealership?

Wow that's an awesome story, Quiksilverx181. Good luck.

I'm not hoping for much, just anything. Working there would be better than anywhere else, at least for me.

Thanks for the hope!

Re: Jobs at a Mazda Dealership?

Oh, s**t. No, I don't. You're right, I should have considered that.* My dad was a big fan of manuals, he told me some things, but I really only know how to shift up. That's basically it. Not sure how to stop, drive it in dense traffic, whatnot.

Do you think any chance I have is now completely shot?
