1) that's too damn funny

2) from the pics of that party, those kids seem to be having a good time...without drinking. OMGWTFBBQ!!!!!!!!!! 1!111one

3) While the prank itself was a good one, I don't see why those kids felt as if they were wronged when the cops used facebook to bust their previous "real" party. Advertise illegal activity, and you should expect to get busted. It's like those idiots that pass out flyers for parties in high school, and then get pissed when they're hauled into the principals office.

Well not necessarily illegal....But the point is...the rent cops shouldn't have to spy on people online.

underage consumption of alcohol? Yeah, that's illegal. And even if we (probably incorrectly) assume that everyone there was actually 21, there are rules governing the number of people allowed in a room and the activity that goes on there.

And campus police officers aren't "rent-a-cops", at least not at any campus I've ever been on. *They're law enforcement officers with powers of arrest, often times including off-campus areas. *Seeing as how it's they're job to enforce applicable laws and school regulations, I don't see how it's wrong for them to monitor a resource that is really in no way private and on which students post public notices about their intent to engage in activity that is, if you disagree with using the term "illegal", against the rules that the campus police are charged with enforcing.

Duke cops are actual real Durham Police, its just a Precinct for them. They even have radar in their carrs to catch people speeding on campus. . .
