So, I want to get some good techno for driving. What some's good trace/techno/house/electronic/whatever the hell you wanna call it? I know Oakenfold is good... please name entire CDs, not just single songs. I'll be going to Best Buy this evening.

Re: WHAT'S SOME GOOD TECHNO/TRANCE/ELECTRONICA?

Do you just want synthesized beats? or would you prefer remixed songs with lyrics and stuff?

But really, the best stuff is just to get the Sirius Satellite radio set up and listen to their 5 (I think it's 5) ambient/trance/dance/tehcno stations.

I was considering that. But I don't know if I should get the Mazda Sirius kit or get it done at Best Buy.

Re: WHAT'S SOME GOOD TECHNO/TRANCE/ELECTRONICA?

Depends on how much integration you want (some people hate seeing some cheap, plastic, grey box popping up out of the dash with wires going all over the place.

But I would recomend Sirius over XM for techno/dance selection.

Re: WHAT'S SOME GOOD TECHNO/TRANCE/ELECTRONICA?

Yeah-Sirius has a pretty decent trance station -area 33 it's called. Depends on the time of day but overall i like listening to it. Also-i'd check out pandora.com i know i posted it in another thread somewhere but i love this site for finding new music. You input either a band or a song and it creates a customized radio station around that song. I've found alot of new music and artists from that site that are amazing.

Best Buy wasn't interested in selling me a sat. radio. No free installation, weren't friendly, etc.

I got Pal Van Dyke's greatest hits, btw.

Heh, you can always get a cheap mp3 player and load it up full of all sorts of songs that you get off the 'net.

Re: WHAT'S SOME GOOD TECHNO/TRANCE/ELECTRONICA?

I've been spinning techno and house music for 5 years now, its mostly all I listen to with the exception of some rock & industrial. Anyways I've got XM and my iPod hooked up in the 3, for XM channels 80-82 are decent electronic stations with the ocassional crappy remix that forces me to change to a different station. If you'd like some pretty good trance that isn't pop-musicish, I recommend Sasha, Sandra Collins, Paul van Dyk, Dave Seaman, Ferry Corsten, DJ Tiesto, DJ Micro, etc... I could think of some more but my minds a blank at the moment. Surprisingly enough Best Buy actually has an ok selection of "dance" music... Check it out for most of these artists. Enjoy!
