Anyone know about XviD?

Wondering if anyone knows anything about XviD....?

I'm trying to Bit Torrent Entourage but it seems like XviD is the format you get it in.

Can you just burn it to a DVD and stick it in your player?!?!

Re: Anyone know about XviD?

XviD == the open source equivalent of DivX. If you look at the way it's spelled, it's simply the reverse spelling of DivX. If your player can play the DivX format, it shouldn't have a problem decoding video encoded with XviD. You can burn it to a DVD without issue. The problem is whether or not your DVD/Media player can handle to the DivX/XviD formats. Playing it in media player won't be problem though. Just pull the XviD codec from http://download.divxmovies.com/XviD-1.1.0-30122005.exe

Yeah I already have the codec on my computer....I was just wondering if it would play if I burnt it straight to DVD. I think my DVD player does, 'cause it's one of the more expensive JVC's....

Does anyone know a good program to convert AVI files to ISO to burn it?

Re: Anyone know about XviD?

I don't know how bad you want the .iso format, but if you just need to get the video onto a CD/DVD so you can watch it then I know Ashampoo Movie Shrink & Burn does a good job. I think TMPGEnc was also good for converting normal movies to Video CD format, but took a while...

Re: Anyone know about XviD?

I ended up using Nero. There's an option to just "create a dvd movie" ...then it converts the file I have and I can change the quality and resolution and everything. Took about 4 hours to do one episode of diggnation but hey it did it .
