Re: Rubber neckers

Gotta love it, people coming at a stand still to check out something, only to slow down traffic or worse yet create an endless accident!

Re: Rubber neckers

I'm more bothered of why people were not looking ahead and taking the proper precautions... there were a few cars there that were going full speed and then slamming on the brakes last second. Stop looking at your speedo and look in front of you...

Re: Rubber neckers

i got into my first (and only) accident from a rubber necker. everyone was slamming on brakes checking out an apartment complex on fire (we were on the highway) and i was stuck *behind one of the idiot stopped cars. then, out of the blue a jeep cherokee came hauling ass & ran right into the back of me. something tells me he was rubber necking too. tore the hell outta my Jetta

Re: Rubber neckers

I lived in Germany for 4 years and I don't ever remember seeing people rubber necking there. Hell, they'd blow past an accident at a "reduced" speed of 75 or 80 mph. Here in Memphis the accident doesn't even have to be on the same side of the interstate. All you need is flashing blue or red lights and traffic stops in both directions. As long as the cops don't enforce the minimum speed limits they'll keep on doing it too.

Re: Rubber neckers

I only rubberneck when the traffic is backup up a ways. If I have to wait an hour to get up to the accident, I'm taking my damn time to look at it.
