Munich...warning: possible spoilers

Anybody seen it yet? I saw it last night. I thought it was really good, for the most part. The end was a bit preachy for me. I don't see why Spielberg found it necessary to have the main character actually say what the whole damn movie was saying all along. He obviously feels (probably correctly) that most of the poeple that will see it are idiots.

Anyway, I liked it. Good plot, good balance of action/suspense/story line.

Hey, what a great movie. BTW does anyone know what kind of guns they were using to kill that naked woman. That was awesome how they left those holes in her body, then the blood started comming out. They were fitted like pipes on their bicycle.

Great Special effects in the Hotel bombing when he was in the next room.

I haven't seen it yet, but my folks saw it last night. Said it was good, but that apparently Jewish people don't like how the movie portrays them as butchers (so my mom said) but I find it difficult to believe, especially when Speilberg directed it.

On the guns, I'm assuming it was an H&K sub-machine gun of some sort. It very well may have been the IDF's Galeel (spelling?) where the rifle is small because the barrel and receiver are placed face back in the stock.

no, they were custom-made guns made to look like bicycle pumps. The scene was actually pretty tense as they tried to get them to work and the girl reached for a gun.

It doesn't portray Jews as butchers. It portrays the Israeli government getting even for something, and the people they task with the job struggle with doing what they see as their duty to their country and doing what they think is right as Jews and as people. What seemed like the right thing to do at the beginning becomes maybe not so right at the end, and their government (Geoffery Rush is awesome in this) just wants them to keep doing it even though they've come to realize that much of what they did was wrong or at least at odds with their beliefs.

My understanding is that Jews are angry about it because it makes some of the Palestinian terrorists look good and questions the morality of killing them, while the Palestinians and Arabs are pissed because it makes what they view as the murder of their people seem like it was ok and justified.

I suppose if everyone is mad at you, then the film must be dead on.

They were pretty damn quiet, and didn't look like they would do much dammage from long distance. Thats why they had to be like 3 feet away from her to work. The Bullet pretty much stayed in her body. And Im sure youd have to whop the back end really hard too!

You couldn't tell if they were silenced firearms or if they were some kind of airgun. Whatever they were, they were badass. And when the blood started gurgling out of her throat....well...that was cool.
