No, I'm not coming on to you. But I got some good books for Christmas and was wondering if anyone got the same (good books, not the same as me).

I got:

-"Now I Can Die in Peace" by Bill Simmons
-"Jarhead" by Anthony Swofford

Re: So... Read Any Good Books Lately?

The last good book I read was Bonfire of the Vanities, by Tom Wolfe. The story was good, but the writing is phenomenal. I can't think of a single author with a better grasp of how to transfer thoughts, emotions, etc. to paper.

My all-time favorites (story-wise) are Catch-22 and Ender's Game, though.

Enders Game is great! I have read the whole series and just recently finished the second book of the continueing series. I have liked alot of Orsen Scott Card's books.

I also just finished Kiln People by David Brin.

I skimmed "Catch-22" in college for a literature class. *I really should get to reading it. *I've seen parts of the movie, though. *Does that count?
