Pay as you go Phone

There is a Nokia 6101 phone that I want but to get it through T-Mobile I have to sign up for like another 1 or 2 year contract and the phone will still cost like $115. My question is some stores now carry a pay as you go phones. At one store they actually have the Nokia 6101. The phone is $99.95 with no contract. My question is if I purchase that phone is it possible to just insert my SIM card in it and it will work? Thanks

Re: Pay as you go Phone

yes you can. that's how i got several v300s for my friends.... $145 at target vs the $249 + renewal contract from TMo a few months back.

i think the sim cards that are already provided with the phone come with $10 worth of minutes.

Uhhh it depends on the pay as you go service. You can't just insert a sim card that's locked to another carrier. As long as you buy a prepaid phone from t-mobile you're okay.

yeh, the 6101/6102 is supposed to be phased out soon and updated with higher pixel cam and bluetooth-6103. 2 model colors, all black/chrome or all silver/chrome.

Re: Pay as you go Phone

Thanks for all the help everyone. Went to Target todasy and got my phone. Originally $129.00 onsale for $99.95. Cheaper then T-mobile and no service contracts! Phone works great. Just inserted my SIM card from my other phone and that was it. I do have one question however. For transferring data from my Phone to PC there are 2 different cables available. Both usb, one DKU-5 and the other CA-42. I noticed the DKU-5 is cheaper then the CA-42. Is there a big difference between the two besides the cost or ease of use? Thanks again!
