Street and Trips 2004

I just got Microsoft Streets and Trips 2004 free along with a blue tooth gps reciever for my IPAQ rx3115...what im wondering is if this program goes on my IPAQ and acts as navigation when integrated with my IPAQ and GPS reciever or if it is just maps and stuff...i have to drive atlanta to tampa and i love having real time maps with my position that tell you how many more miles you have and turn by turn directions...

Re: Street and Trips 2004

I have the 2005 version of the software, and i use a garmin GPS that is hooked up to my laptop. It will show live current position, but you have to make sure the receiver has a clear view of the sky. Mine's really picky, and its a high-end standalone system. The one thing it won't do however, is the whole.... "Turn left here" when you're coming to a turn in the road.

I am your little i friend.

Re: Street and Trips 2004

I believe the portion that syncs into your IPAQ only stores a route that you've already assembled or the maps of the areas around it. I have S&T 2005, but I', a Palm user so I have to (and prefer to) rely on my laptop on the passenger seat when I need a nav.

S&T 2006, released recently, does the talking bit which is new for this year.

Re: Street and Trips 2004

I'm not sure; I'd have to research it. So, you still have your IPAQ, and you want it to run TomTom software with the BT GPS puck?

Re: Street and Trips 2004

okay heres what i have

IPAQ rx3115
1 gig SD card (memory)
1 gig SD card (memory)
HP BlueTooth GPS Receiver ( http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Genuine-HP-i...QQcmdZViewItem )

Now waht i want to do is add software to my IPAQ where i can enter an address into it and it gives me step by step directions from where the car is just like a factory navigation that comes with the mazda3. I have Street and Trips 2004 coming in the mail for free but i dont know if that does what i want it to. Whats the cheapest program (that will work)?

You can do what you want with S&T 2006; however it doesn't say anything about talking to you. Don't know about '04 or '05.

Re: Street and Trips 2004

The other slugger in the category is Delorme's Street Atlas USA. A coworker is a big fan, but he doesn't have a Windows-based PDA so I don't know how well it will work there or what functionality you'll get from it.
