PSP, Ipod Video, Remote Start or a Radar Detector?

My gf is going to get me one of these for xmas. Which one should I get.

The radar detector would probably be the escort 8500 x50.

I already have a Rio Karma which is 20gb mp3 player, but its not as fancy as the ipod video 30gb. I dont use my mp3 player that much anyways. The only upside to the ipod being that I get to watch video on it and that I could get one of the mazda 3 integration units for the ipod..

The psp, Im not conviced on, I probably wont use it that much since it would require me to spend money for games and accessories.

Ive gotten 2 speeding tickets in the last 4 months. The last one costing me close to 450 (only because i didnt get any points off though).

Edit: Remote start is another possibility but install would be a bitch.

What else could I get for <300?

The choice would seem obvious. Say no to the po-po with an Escort.

Katzkin leather / OZ Palladio 17x7.5 / Dunlop SP Sport Signatures / Xtec HIDMatch 9005 & H11 / SilverStars / JLeviSW 7440s / K&N filter / Z-Series stubby / JDM Coin Holders
TO DO: tint, sub, Xbox 360

do radar detectors really work? Ive heard conflicting arguments.

EDIT: oh yeah and I have metallic tint all around, wouldn't that affect the radar detector?

Bah... your eyes are your best cop detector! I learned that in several years of hardcore highway driving. I actually threw out my radar detector I think.... can't find it anyway. I vote on the remote start!

EDIT: I like to share this a lot, but what Uncle Ernie has to say is pretty good:
