Wireless keyboard and mouse combo

I moved into an Apt from my house (temp until I can find another house), and I have a lot less room. 1st space saving solution - use my 56 HD TV as a computer monitor. It has a PC in port so it "should" work. The next step would be to buy a wireless keyboard and mouse combo so I can surf from the couch.

My two questions: How far is the range on those wireless keyboard/mouse setups and Can anyone recommend a good one. Thanks.

effective range isn't that far, maybe 10ft.

Not even. It's about 5 ft if that. I have mine and it doesn't work all the well. Although I do have a dell combo. So it may be different from one to another. www.google.com is your friend.

Yeah - I'm gonna need about 10 feet or so. I was looking into a few on Overstock.com. There isn't any mention of the effective range though. I think my best bet is to spend a little more at the store, just in case it doesn't workout. Re-shipping and waiting for refunds blows.

I love my microsoft one. Ergonomic wireless. The keyboard works a few feet away, but it'd be hard to test 10 feet away in my apartment.

Re: Wireless keyboard and mouse combo

I have a Compaq Wireless keyboard/mouse combo. The mouse is optical and rechargeable so batt life is not a issue. Got it a Radio Shack of all places and I love it...

Re: Wireless keyboard and mouse combo

At work we use Microsoft Optical Keyboard and Mouse with Bluetooth and it works very well in our conference rooms (10-15 feet)... expect to pay between $100 and $150...

Don't go for a cheapo one.

Go down to best buy and pickup something name brand, either Microsoft or Logitech.
