Cleaning your car off when it snows
One of my biggest pet peeves while driving is. People who don't clean there car off when it snows.
This morning was the 1st ruch hour with snow fall of the season and I'm driving into work and it amazes me to see how many people do clean there car off. This 1 guy I saw this morning cleaned his windshield and his drivers side window off and the rest of the car was covered in snow. The back window had about 4" on it and even the tail lights and the side view mirrors where covered. How the hell do these people see where the going?
Eventually the snow falls off or flies off while driving and hits someones windshield. I love that!!!!
You should be allowed to drive without cleaning off your car. Police should give tickets for this crap.

Re: Cleaning your car off when it snows
I agree...the windows and all lights should be clear...but don't go overboard and start scraping snow off your paint...you'll regret it the next time you clean your car and find all the scratches.
Re: Cleaning your car off when it snows
My ex-roommate claims that it's illegal to do that in New Hampshire, but he was a moron and didn't even know how to check his own oil (I kid you not).
I don't do it for the risk of scracthing my paint. I just do the windshield, wipers, all side windows, mirrors, and back window. That's it. Fuck everyone else. I'm not scratching my paint or head/tails for someone else. If they're going to hit me it ain't gonna stop 'em.

Who scraps off there car? Not like I use a Ice scraper on the car, just the windows.
I have a soft bristled brush and clear off anything loose. besides the car is running with the defrosters on
while I clean off the car.

Well, you should probably risk a few scratches on your taillights rather than get ass-ended. *You might not be happy with the looks of your car if you gotta get it painted and straightened. *

Not my problem. Someone's insurance will cover it and I won't take it back till it's done right.

Re: Cleaning your car off when it snows
i only clean off my windows, headlights and tail lights , the rest i let blow off, which isnt much anyway , cause my car keeps such a good layer of wax, its not easy for it to stick to the car, and once the car has warmed up, it starts to melt the rest off, take one quick turn, and my car is snow free, i will never let a snow brush touch my car...
**and you thought that wouldn't get removed?

Its a good this that I don't live in the Northern, Va. Your the kind of person I try to avoid on the road.
Your attitude will change when someone creams you.

...and their insurance company bends over backwards and pays to fix my car exactly the way it was prior to the collision or replace my car. Simple. That's why people have insurance. If they're too dumb to see me or drive carefully in adverse conditions, it's not my problem.

Re: Cleaning your car off when it snows
Let me try and remember the last time I witnessed an insurance company bend over backwards...give me a minute.
