New Soft Helmet Turns Hard in Crash

Freaking cool!!!

Researchers at the University of Hertfordshire have discovered a complex elastomeric compound they call d3o that is both soft and hard.

I need to get me one of these for snowboarding.

I really wish they'd release more episodes.

Re: New Soft Helmet Turns Hard in Crash

actually i thought this was really interesting, and i would have LOVED a soft helmet like that when i snowboarded, especially if its pourus enough to let air through (for the spring) looks kinda goofy though

i just want some of this stuff to play with, and it would be an awsome material to make cups out of... (as in groin protectors) comfy, and still prtoects you form hit in the nuts
