stupid noob question, but is FireFox all that its cracked up to be, or is it just easier to stick with IE?

Re: New Firefox version 1.5 released today

I use Firefox for the increased control i have over my internet experience. I am not always on the shiny happy side of the net and yet i still keep my machines running pretty damn clean. That said i have FF, IE, Opera(new addless ver.) all on my machines.

The user agent extension allows you to view the site as if you were another browser or device. I can set it and then come to this site and it thinks I am on a pocket pc, IE, or hundreds of other web enabled viewers. Devbar allows for more control and delving into the page elements and lets me pick at stuff to see how various pages are put together.

Which... is basically the same thing, just with more stuff built into it.

Anyway I use Firefox most of the time... Safari some, occassionally Opera. Almost never IE, at least not on my systems.

Re: New Firefox version 1.5 released today

I switched to Firefox several months back. *If nothing else, the extensions and customizability place it had and shoulders above IE. *Not to mention the fact that it seems to run much faster and leaner. *The user profile feature is also pretty nifty (since my gf and I have wildly different preferences and bookmarks) *A couple of my favorite extensions:

Gmail notifier
FoxyTunes
Adblocker
