When do you put up your tree? lights? decorations? etc...

I have noticed that at the begining of the month a neighbor had already put up her Chirstmas lights outside. A bit too early for me.
My family usually starts to bring out the decorations and tree (fake one) the evening of Thanksgiving. Or the weekend after.
how about ya'll?

Re: When do you put up your tree? lights? decorations? etc...

Wifey and I usually begin the weekend after Thanksgiving. Usually, no later then December 1st. The Christmas season is our favorite time of the year, so...we try to get a least a full month of having our decorations and such out and about. We usually take everything down around the first weekend after the New Year.

On a side note, I really dislike the fact that retailers/people are doing Christmas stuff so early. Retailers begin around beginning of September...then they pump out Christmas tunes usually by the first week of November. That is too much for me to handle.

Re: When do you put up your tree? lights? decorations? etc...

I am SO "Clark Grizwald" when it comes to lights. I think I go to Wal-mart at least 4 times in one week, to go back and buy more lights, as I am setting up the lights at MY house AND at my Mom's!
ZoominPoet, we also like to have out decorations up for a good while. It's so nice. Since we have traveld so much in our lifetime, we have so many things from all over the world. My x-bf says that my Mom's house looks like a Christmas store with so many things out on display throughout the house. lol. We keep our decorations up until the weekedn after the 6th of January, which is when we celebrate 3 Kings Day. I just love the holidays b/c of the time we get to spend with our families!! Its so cool when we have our x-mas party, over 50 people and 5 generations. Its amazing. For me spending christmas in the US (after getting married) was very hard and lonely. All those Wal-mart, Telephone and Hallmark commericals, had me bawling! ha ha, just the other day, saw a wal-mart one and got all choked up!
I do miss the cold, getting all bundled up and going out, being alll cuddley, the smells... ah, but nothing compares to seeing my little one, running around at 10pm, all dressed up with her cousins and her great grandfather, listening to old Salsa christmas songs, drinking Coquito (PR eggnog, with coconut and Bacardi) and being with my sister, and parents.
Ok, the tears are coming... ha ha

PR - glad you are as "holdiay-driven" as myself. I just love this time of the year! Post pics after your dozen or so trips to Wal-Mart. haha

We are putting up our Christmas tree right now and are putting up the outside decorations next weekend. We just got a santas sleigh to go with the light up reindeer we have.

This is what our tree looked like last year on my old crappy camera, I have to take a new one this year.
