To update the article a bit, it's estimated that about 528,000 DNS servers worldwide have tracked hits from computers infected by this software, and of course most DNS servers will have more than one infected PC off of them.
Trojan's are already out which take advantage of the Sony Rootkit software.
Apple Mac OSX boxes are not affected and will play the CD's normally without any DRM interference.
Sony has now agreed to recall all CD's and replace them for free with non-DRM'd versions, at a cost of tens of millions of dollars.
Class action lawyers have not yet filed suit, but that's only a matter of time.
Some are demanding that Sony refund people's money who don't want a replacement CD.
This effects 49 titles and a couple million disc's (I forget the number offhand).
