Who plays a believable mentally challenged person?

Leonardo DiCaprio in What's Eating Gilbert Grape (1993)

Tom Hanks in Forrest Gump (1994)

Sean Penn in I Am Sam (2001)

Edward Norton in The Score (2001)

Cuba Godding Jr. in Radio (2003)

Dustin Hoffman in Rain Man (1988)

I think Edward does a really authentic job in The Score

I say DiCaprio. That was totally believable, especially since I think he was playing himself.

Have you seen the trailer for "The Ringer" starring Johnny Knoxville?

Re: Who plays a believable mentally challenged person?

I've been waiting for that to happen since this thread opened...

But truthfully, I kinda liked Harrison Ford (post gunshot to the head) in Regarding Henry. Dustin Hoffman is also up there.

Re: Who plays a believable mentally challenged person?

<- I played a pretty convincing "Slow Adam".

Buddies all got together and decided each one of us had to do something for the evening or else.
Jon: No negative comments. OR (can't remember)
Amanda: Interject on all conversations. OR show her hideous drivers license photo to a complete stranger.
Jason: No getting caught staring at hot chicks. OR he had to hit on a chick of our choosing.
Adam: Talk like Slow Adam for the whole night. OR jump/hurdle an item of their choosing. (trash cans, fire hydrants, bushes, etc)

Can't remember what everyone else got, but it was a great evening.
