its a tech demo at best and not an actual product. Gillette doesn't control the shelves at any store, this would only be useful if the retail store actually wanted to buy this shit, which would have to include a server. Too much cost to minimize a product that probably doesn't get stolen as much as they think.

Probably right. Why would a store waste that much money to protect razor blades?

If anything, this would be applied to an area such as the CD/DVD section. Or cosmetics, I suppose. When I worked for a major discount retailer, that was the department that routinely posted the highest dollar losses to theft in the entire store.
