Speeding Ticket in PA - help Canadians

Hi,

Last week, i was in Pennsylvania and received a speeding ticket for going 86mph in a 65mph zone. The ticket is for $165 and is my first ticket ever. Arggh...i hate driving in the northeast usa, they drive too slow! Anyways, I live in Ontario and was wondering what would happen if I did not pay the ticket. From what I have heard, if you dont pay or even pay a ticket from New York State, it impacts your driving record in Ontario, you will lose demerit points. My uncle received speeding tickets in North Carolina and Alabama and has not paid for over 5 years. He keeps on receiving the invoice in the mail, but just trashes it. He also had no problem renewing his license plate stickers, so Im assuming North Carolina nor Alabama contact the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario. What should I do? I dont want to pay the damn ticket...arghhh!

Thanks!

I'd pay it. If ever you get stopped by the police again in that state they may have a warrant for your arrest, you never know. Also, I know that some neighbouring states (to Ontario) do have an agreement whereby an out-of-province traffic ticket does show up on your Ontario record, I'm not sure if Pennsylvania is on of them, I know Michigan and New York are.

I think pennsylvania is too far south for there to be an agreement. I am pretty sure it was only states bordering canada that did that. If you don't wanna pay the ticket I doubt they can do much against you, but if you do pay it you'll only be out 165 dollars, they cant do anything else.

You think driving 65 is slow? Try other states that have the highest speed limit of 55.
