hmmm...* from this info I gather that the risk/reward ratio for occupation #5 is way out of whack.

I work for the Feds at the ATL airport the busiest in the world AND i look for bombs haha
not exactly a safe job but it pays the bills and then some while i go to school

Why isn't police officer on the list? I wonder how many logging workers have died on the job versus how many police officers have...

The numbers are based on deaths per 100,000 workers in that job. Last year 153 cops got killed, but there are about 840,000 cops in the country. That gives you a death rate of about 18.2/100,000. By contrast, there are only about 91,000 loggers in the US and 85 of them got killed. Much higher rate of death on the job.

Apparantly being a cop is relatively safe. relatively.
