anyone have a racing chair for video games?

the winter is coming up, and living in the city with the most snowfall in US, we don't have any autocross events in the winter here... so I was thinking getting one of these http://www.mushaburuigaming.com/mushaburui_e/tekki.htm and practicing driving on Forza (or other sims)

anyone tried one of these chairs, are they worth it? I had an xbox steering wheel, and i found i can't really use it on my lap, or on the coffee table. If anyone has any other ideas for holding the steering wheel, i'd appreciate them, too.

You could buy a real racing seat and build you a set-up cheaper than that. I have a friend that had one custom made.
I built a bench to hold a wheel once..that was very easy and I just used a comfortable chair.
Did away with it though as I'm much better with a controller than the wheel.

ye, i noticed my times got worse when i got a nice analog controller for PS1 (GT1 times, old skool) but this might be more indicative of real-life performance, no? you can't go from center to full-tilt steering in 0.1sec like on the stock controller...

anyway, i thought about building a bench, but it will probably come out more expensive anyway...
