probably a stupid question

i was just wondering......

if its pouring down rain...and you open the hood while the engine is still hot, and water drops down on the engine...

did i do a no-no?

Nope. You should be good unless you left it open for more then 5 mins or so. You clean your engine with water so its not going to hurt your car.

no but the engine was hot...


edit: i thought if you put semi cold (rain water) water on a hot engine it would cause problems...?

but i thought water splashed up in the engine bay when it rains anyway...right?

diox sprays down his engine all the time, with a high pressure hose, and his car is ok.

My car broke

But someone said not to do that, becsue of the high pressure of the water

Me also,a few times a year I hose down the engine of dust and dirt at those self service car washes.
Is that a big no- no?
