Bad IRL Crash

i looked everywhere for pics or videos but i couldnt find anything (so you get to read a news clip). i saw the crash on sportscenter last night and it was probably the worst crash i have seen.

if any one can find a video of the crash it would be much appreciated.

"JOLIET, Ill. -- Ryan Briscoe suffered broken bones and a concussion in a fiery collision with Alex Barron on the 20th lap of Sunday's PEAK Antifreeze Indy 300 at Chicagoland Speedway.

Briscoe's car flipped over Barron's and slammed into the safety barrier after the two clipped tires on the fourth turn. The rear end of Briscoe's car broke away, and debris tore a hole in a fence along the barrier.

Briscoe was taken by helicopter to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Ill. He was to spend the night there with broken right and left clavicles, a concussion, and a bruised lung.

Barron and Kosuke Matsuura, who also was involved, walked away unscathed.

The crash resulted in a 16-minute red flag -- the first for a medical emergency in an IndyCar Series race since October 2003.

"I felt a bump from the left rear of my car," Barron said. "Ryan was up over me. He was upside down and there was a lot of fire. It was just a quick thud."

Briscoe initially won the pole in Saturday's qualifying but dropped to the 23rd position after his car failed an inspection."

I saw it happen live. Very spectacular, but it probably wasn't nearly as bad as it looked.

Peak anti-freeze video.

I saw the crash durring the race... it was fricken unreal, I thought for sure the guy was majorly injured. Just the way the car broke apart and the nose cone with the cockpit just went flipping over and over on the road.

Turns out, the car is supposed to breakaway like that... someone used the concept as legos to explain it. Anyways, the car did it's job, and the Brisco doesn't have bad injuries... but I'm unsure if he will participate in the next race. After this and his last accident two weekends ago, I think the team might be a little mad at him.

With broken clavicles, the next race will be very uncomfortable, to say the least. I'd give him a few more weeks before expecting him back.

Re: Bad IRL Crash

Well, there's only two more races for this season, and Danny Wheldon has already locked the championship... they might just use the last two races to test out other drivers and car settings. Earlier in the season, I kinda liked Briscoe; then the accident happeneed on the last race (two weeks ago), and when they interviewed him... it seemed like he had too much attitude (a common occurance in race drivers, shocking!). This is the reason I don't like Danny Wheldon either. There's only a couple of racers I like in the league and I cheer them on each time, but only 4 drivers or so always dominate every race, and it's always the ones with attittude. well, maybe next year.
