My Cat vs. a Cricket!!! (Story & Pics)

Ok, so just earlier tonight my dad and I were sitting in the living room watching TV. We have 2 cats. The one doesn't really meow, he squeeks. So we heard a meow coming from the kitchen, and knew it was the "squeeky cat". So I said to my dad how odd that was for him to actually be meowing. It didn't sound like a good meow either.

So I get up and go into the kitchen to check it out. He's in there sitting under the kitchen table and he's got his eyes locked on something. I look over and just under the front of the fridgerator is a cricket!! I was shocked to see a friggin cricket in our kitchen! Have no idea how he got in, anyway...

So I stood there and watched my cat just staring this cricket down like there was no tomorrow, it was hilarious! LOL! By the way his name is Pepe. So I said "Aww shit Pepe your gonna f*** up this cricket aren't you?" Hahah, yes I talked to him. I talk to my cats.

So then I open the fridge to cast light on the cricket and then my cat suddenly moves in on him. Now sitting within inches of him he's still staring at him and the cricket is still under the fridge. Then Pepe just starts batting at him with his big paws! After a couple swats he gets him out from under the fridge and bats at him again, then picks him up in his mouth and starts walking. I can see the legs of the cricket sticking out of his mouth! Haha, so we open the basement door and tell him to take it down there, he does.

He comes back up a minute later with it in his mouth. Then he drops it on the kitchen floor and just stares at his successful kill, Haha! Then he just sits there and looks at it and then starts playing with the dead cricket!! He's batting it around the kitchen. It was hilarious, so I took out my camera phone that was handy and took pics. Then my dad told me to get rid of it so I threw it outside.

Here's the pics I took. Enjoy!! I'm proud of him!

My dogs like to jump up in the air to catch flies. It sounds like clamps shutting as their mouths close trying to eat them

Wow your cat looks exactly like mine.

Speaking of cool cat stories I was sitting here playing on my laptop when I heard a meow and my cat jumped up and turned off the lights to my room. This is the first time i've ever seen anything like this, it was amazing.

Woah!! He hit the light switch to turn them off??! Wow, smart cat!

Cool your cat looks like mine. He is a Maine Coon. Awesome cat. It's interesting, I read that all Maine Coon's don't really meow, but they sqeek, or have a high pitch yelp, not meow. I can account for that, that's how he is. But tonight it was interesting, he actually meowed!

Dan...Dan...Dan...

You need to get out more bro instead of using cat-antics for entertainment. haha Just kidding, dude.

My two cats do some of the weirdest things too! Everytime I open one of my CD drives on my 'puter or try to print something, they are attacking my 'puter. haha

Re: My Cat vs. a Cricket!!! (Story & Pics)

Hahah, cats are cool, mine didn't leave it alive for too long. He liked to play with it after it was dead, kicking it around the kitchen. As you see in this pic below, he was attacking the cricket AFTER it was dead! Haha, silly cat!
