Marriage?

So, umm, yeah.

Well I might be asking my g/f to marry me soon. We've been together for 3 1/2 years, and I've never had the money. Get a bonus in 2 weeks which will give me a total of about 2500 or so to drop on a ring. Now I just have to think of how to ask her.

Re: Marriage?

If she's one of those girls who says Yes all the time when she's getting off, do it then. Great way to avoid rejection!

No seriously though, that's pretty sweet man. You should just be honest and not worry about making a fool of yourself because no matter how stupid you think you look, whenever she looks back on it she'll think you were being just as romantic. Try doing it after a really eventful date or something, like dinner and maybe some dancing (Although I can't picture someone asking someone else to marry them when they are drenched after coming out of a club).

But then again, I'm 19 what the hell would I know!

Re: Marriage?

Yeah I don't think she's gonna say no. I'm actually more worried about my parents than her! ( They LOVE my G/F, but they have this stupid idea that I want to go to Grad School, which I don't, and that I shouldn't buy a house/get married/have kids/ or anything before I go. But I'm not going.)

I'm trying to think of some romantic way to ask her but everytime I think of something I'm like "eh, thats wa to cliched" or something along those lines.

Re: Marriage?

I don't even know you bro but I'm happy for you, congrats. I've been with my girlfriend for almost 5yrs now and i always told her that I wouldn't propose until i got my car... now i have my car... time to start saving.

As for how to propose, get a puppy and attach the box around its neck with a note bla bla and all you have to do is get it to run to her when you are alone or something . But sometimes chicks LOVE the cliché crap. Good luck!

Re: Marriage?

Do you two frequent any locations to hang out at? Like a park or building ? If so have one of your friends help you out and have them put roses all over your favorite bench at a park or building entrance then you can ask there with all the roses around

My advice...buy everything you want before you get married..afterwards no matter how you think its going to be, youll need approval to buy the smallest things...

Re: Marriage?

WOW..
how weird is this ...
I actually just asked my gf (now fiancee) this saturday nite..

It was actually her bday, and so I bought 20 tickets for a harbour cruise and invited some of our friends to come along .So I got the band to play 'our' song, and while we were having champagne with everyone on the boat, I said a few words of thanks to our friends... and turned to her and.. *did* it...
She was really shocked, and ... well had tears the rest of the night (happy tears tho)

When I get home from work, I'll post a few pics ..

Maybe you could do something similar, or maybe your gf would want it to be a private moment... I know mine wanted it to be in a public place, which is why I did the boat cruise plan...
