My Truck accident in China Town

So here is the deal, I'm backing up to a customer in China Town to make a delivery and I'm constantly checking both my mirrors as I am paranoid of some of the idiots down there. As i go to check my passenger mirror I see this Van jet in behind me and then it suddenly stop, right behind my truck. I quickly yank the wheel to the right as I am watching my passenger window, trying to quickly avoid this dip-shit, and I drill a friggin pole. I Messed up the front end of my truck (pics below) and the buddy in the van pulls a quick U-turn and takes off before I can get out of my truck. Some people are just idiots. Anyways, I took it to a body shop today for a quote for insurance, the total cost to fix it would be $4700 and change. This includes a new fiberglass hood, headlight assembly, side piece of bumper, turn signal and new mirror w/ supports. My deductible is $2500, it sucks. Well I guess I worked this week for free. Anyways, give us truckers some space if you don't mind, things would be a lot worse if I had hit the Van, 5 tons of steel plus freight leaves a little more than a dent.

What an idiot!!

Sometimes I gotta go help direct traffic for the poor truck driver that has to back into our shipping dock at work on a busy street. The best part is our dock is right next to the Salvation Army shipping dock and drop off zone. So we get a lot of crazy ass people dropping off their shit there all day and don't seem to give a damn when a truck with a 50" trailer is backing up!!! I'm glad I'm not the one driving though .

I usually try to help truck drivers, it's just annoying when you're driving along at 70mph and they pull out in front of you causing you to either slam on your breaks or swerve off the road. I usually try to give them a break though b/c I know how hard it is to drive those things.

Re: My Truck accident in China Town

Transport truck = way bigger than anything I drive, ergo I give them all the space they want.
