Paris at Christmas

I'm thinking of going to Paris for Christmas. Anybody ever been? Besides the Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Catacombs, Cimetiere du Pere-Lachaise, and the Zoo, anything else interesting to see? I'd definitely like to check out the night life. Roxy, what's the best place to stay in your opinion?

Re: Paris at Christmas

Yes! I definitely recommend it! Though I was there for all of two days and didn't go to many places I quickly toured (and will probably butcher the spelling of) the Arch de Triumph, Eiffel tower, Notre Dame, and the lovely subway system! ;-) I did a lot of walking around just to see the local streets and buildings which I also enjoy very much. The best was a late streetside dinner close to the Eiffel Tower... I'm not usually the traveler that has to go to the best restaurants and have great meals, but this dinner was incredible. I think the atmosphere contributed!

Ask Roxy, she was born there. I would love to go there. Also I think Rob has been there.

Re: Paris at Christmas

csweeney, i went to paris for 4 days this summer and it was so much better than what I thought it would be like. The french are like americans, some are assholes and some are as nice as can be. You should hit up all of those places mentioned above. We stayed at crappy joint though. Alot of the places have no AC so you should be fine considering it will be around Christmas.

I'll look through my log later to see what all we did. Another place at little outside is Chateau de versai. The gardens there are spectacular and the house aint bad either! have fun!
