Surgery

yeah so at 9:55 am EST i will be on the operating table at the local hospital having my knee fixed up. they have to move my knee cap to where it should be and then scrape away scar tissue on a 4mm dent in my femur then drill the bone to make it bleed and then form a cartilidge. its all because i was training for varsity football with horrible knees and no cartilidge so it was bone on bone. and i was squating 320 and leg pressing 500. bad idea. so in sept i dislocated my knee cap. and when it swung around it dented the bone and chipped it. so its gunna be a loooooooooooooong day tomorrow. anyone else have surgery lately?

Re: Surgery

Luckily I have never had any surgery on any bones/ligaments etc. I have had all 4 of my wisdom teeth out, and 3 surgeries on my eyes, but I have recovered from them in a week or less.

Good luck with the recovery

Re: Surgery

Nothing recent but when I was in high school I had to have 3 different surgeries on my right hand. I got in a fight and got a "Boxers fracture" I broke the bone going to my ring finger. The x-ray was pretty nasty because it wasn't a small fracture, the bone was completly broke in half and somehow twisted. So I went under the knife and they put a plate and 4 screws over the break. I have no idea how but 2 of the screws managed to back out a little so what do you do when something doesn't work the first time? Make it bigger of course. This time they put in a bigger plate (it ran from my knuckle to my wirst) with 6 screws. That stayed in for a few months and the the 3rd time was to pull all of the hardware out after it healed. The first surgery I was pretty nervous because I hate hospitals and needles but by the third time I just waltzed in there like a pro.

Just a heads up, when you come out of the anastesia you will probably say a bunch of stupid shit. So be prepared to make an arse out of your self. I apparently kept hitting on the nurses and was admiring the size of one nurses rack, out loud. My dad said that everytime she would walk by, I would say "God Damn those are some big titties and other random vulgarities. I guess it wouldn't have been bad but my mom and girlfriend were standing next to me.

On a side note, depending what they prescribe you for pain, be careful. They tend to be quite addicting. After 3 surgeries and being on a steady supply of Vicodin for almost a year I devolped a very strong addiction to Vicodin and just pills in general. Granted it was during my weed and shrooms days so I was abusing them, but now several years later, I still struggle with pills. Thanks to the Air Force I don't take anything illegal but, when I take Advil instead of 2 I struggle not to take 6-8. Anyway, enough of me being a mom. Good luck, hope your doc has a steady hand
