Im overwhelmed and devastated

Well, i have been living in Fresno for 6 years, Im currently going to college here, living with my parents, and have many REALLY good friends here, i spend maybe 4-6 hours DAILY with my best friends here...

My parents just informed me that my dad got a job in Modesto California, and that we will be moving to Dublin (45 min away), its near the bay area. Was i shocked? Hell yes

What made me sick to my stomach? The fact taht I would have to start my social live over again. I doubt I will ever find friends again like i have in Fresno, and the fact that since I would be again living at home for at least a year and a half more means taht I cant really make friends from living on a college campus (cant afford it right now).....

This is all very sudden for me, and im just overwhelmed...

45 minutes isnt too bad. You can visit them, you have a 3.
Join clubs on campus that way you can get somewhat involved and make friends.

Ive been there, and its hard. But you can do it.

You're in college... move out if you really want to stay... I mean don't you need to stay near your college anyway?

Do you need a hug dude? Take the drive like once a week and kick it with them. There is plenty of people in the world. You'll find some new friends man. Friends come and go.

Re: Im overwhelmed and devastated

I'm not doubting you have some great friends in Fresno, but shit man. Fresno is such a shithole of a town. Be glad you're going to Dublin. And, like someone said, you've always got a 3 to take roadtrips in.

Fresh starts are nice sometimes, and usually come when you don't want them. Personally, I want, make that NEED, one and can't escape this god damn valley.
