Computer Graphicis people, I have a question

Hey guys,

I'm going into computer graphics, and I am going to need how to use Adobe Illustrator CS2 but I don't have a clue how to, I know Adobe Photoshop CS2 like the back of my hand and GoLive but I dno anything about Illustrator, I was wondering if you all recommend any particualar book that you all used trying to get to learn it for your first time.

Please do not just start linking me to random amazon.com sites and stuff, Give me some feedback on the book or something if your going to post something.

Thank you so much

Take it easy

(Oh, by the way its for a Mac I dno if makes a difference or not)

Illustrator is pretty simple to use. and produces great output files. Im guessing youll also need to know InDesign CS also? Unfortunately I have yet to find any books that I like to learn from about them.

I've used Illustrator since Illustrator 88, and I've never picked up a book about it. It was very much trial and error on my part. If you have used some of the vector tools in Photoshop, they are similar in Illustrator. Otherwise, I do not have any books I can recommend, sorry.

Just start playing around. many features in Photoshop are also implemented in Illustrator, like layers and effects. Do you know any other designers in your area who are willing to answer your questions? Stroke their ego, and you may some tutelage for free :-)

Blog and stuff?

I've been using Classroom in a Book series to learn Adobe products.* Get the Illustrator CS2 version, written and published by Adobe itself.* It's a good book for beginners..... easy to learn, comes with a CD-ROM.* The training provides step by step instructions in most, if not all key features.

if your getting into graphic design professionaly I would also learn Quark as well. Illustrator takes some time to learn but I use a lot of online tutorials that taught me the basics.
