Look what I found *Update! 8-15-05*

Scroll down for update with pics.

So last night, I was coming home with the girlfriend. We went to get paint to paint my room, and coming back through the parking area to my house, this little guy was just walking around on the street.

He can't fly, because his wings have been clipped. So it's a house bird, obviously. Some how it must have gotten out and happened to be walking around outside, unharmed by the neighborhood cats and fast moving cars. My girlfriend and I took it home with us, and now I think I'm going to keep it. Unless I find a flyer near my house stating they lost their bird. It's a cute little guy. It likes my girlfriend more than me. The two times I've held it, it shit on me. Hasn't done it to her yet.

If I do end up keeping it, I'm not sure what to name it. I liked Tweety, like Tweety bird. But my girlfriend says Tweety was a girl. I swore it was a boy. Anyways, I was reading that parakeets like to have companions and/or friends. So I was thinking of getting two more and naming them Larry, Curly and Moe. But we'll see. I don't want to get too attached to the bird, just in case someone does go looking for it. But I think I already am. He's so cute! My mom is bringing me a cage from her house. That way I don't keep it in this tarantula cage. It's not very open for air, like a normal bird cage.

Anyways, yeah, just thought I'd share!

Sounds like love at first sight. Just don't let him near your car.

Re: Look what I found

This bird is awesome, he's so tamed. It's a well trained parakeet. I think I've grown too attached to it now, I'm scared that someone will come looking for it.

Finders keepers. Loosers wheepers. Obviously they weren't taking care of him too well for the poor lil guy to go wondering outside. Clearly you & your lady are better parents to the lil guy. What a sweet story. Got any more pics? I love animals. Awwww
