Sleepwalking..wth?

wow..this story is odd..how the hell did she get up there?

LONDON - A teenage sleepwalker was rescued after being found fast asleep 130 feet up on the arm of a crane, police said on Wednesday.

Emergency services were called to a building site in London after a passer-by spotted the 15-year-old girl curled up on top of a concrete counterweight high above the ground.

The teenager, who has not been named, had climbed up the crane and walked across a narrow metal beam while fast asleep during the incident, which happened on June 25.
It is believed the teenager had walked out unnoticed from her home near the site in Dulwich, southeast London.

She was brought down in a hydraulic lift after a two-hour rescue operation.

“Police and London Fire Brigade attended and the woman was brought down from the crane at around 4:00 a.m. and taken to hospital for precautionary checks,” a police spokeswoman said.

The girl was unharmed and later went home

Damn, I'd be scared if I slept THAT hard! I'd have to tie myself down... lol.

Re: Sleepwalking..wth?

There are many horror stories of sleepwalking. I think in 1995 a little boy sleepwalked to the kitchen, picked up a knife and stabbed his father while sleepwalking! This happened in Bangladesh.

He Who Flingy Dingy Must Have A Dingy to Flingy.

I dunno, man... I'd be too afraid no one would notice my ass up on a crane in the middle of the night. Then I wouldn't be able to get down. I can climb up ok, but I can't get down, lol. Call it a fear of heights, compounded by the fact that I'm too clumsy/unstable on high up platforms and ladders....

A cousin of mine used to sleepwalk. I'm not sure if she does it anymore, but I remember sleeping over at her place one night while I was visiting my relatives several years ago. She scared the shit out of me when she started speaking my name in the hallway (in these half-sentences that didn't make much sense), while approaching the room I was sleeping in. I think at that point her mom woke up and ushered her away.... so I didn't have to deal with it. It's a good thing too - 'cause I was going to throw something at her, lol.

Re: Sleepwalking..wth?

I slept walked aften as a child. My parents stoped me walking down the lawn heading to the street carrying a chair in the middle of the night once. I have also done it as an adult but haven't since I quit drinking and the like several years ago.
