Top Gear on TV in the states!!!

When I got my TiVo a while back I put in a wish list for Top Gear should they ever start broadcasting in the states. Sure enough, tonight I checked the TiVo for the first time this week and I found an episode waiting for me! It turns out the Discovery channel is playing them. Check your listings - I love this show!!

Hope the link works....

I've seen most of these episodes, it seems like they're starting at the beginning of the series. They even have captions translating pounds into dollars for us stupid Americans!

EDIT: I love your avatar, btw! "AAAHHHH.... ssssssss..... AAAHHHH.... ssssssss..... AAAHHHH.... ssssssss..... AAAHHHH.... ssssssss..... "

Bah, they edited the hell out of them. I think they've taken out all the jokes they make about Americans too.

I'd much rather watch Clarkson in all his pompous asshole glory.

Re: Top Gear on TV in the states!!!

I've only seen one so far and it was definitely spliced. I don't really think there was much of an opportunity to blast the American cars in that episode though. He did make it a point to ask the audience how to put something in terms that the American audience could understand, so it looks like we'll still get some Clarkson glory! The true test will be if they air the Chrysler Crossfire review in its entirety in the states! :-)

Not just the Crossfire, but the '05 Mustang, the Corvette, and the SRT-10 - just about every American sports car reviewed on Top Gear has been blasted to hell by them. They didn't even bother putting the new Mustang GT on the track, something I would have really liked to see.
