The Frustration of DVD Burning

Right. So I'm trying to burn this DVD for my mom. I got the vid in .avi format. It can't fit on 1 CD, I don't want to split it, and .avi formats don't work on DVD Video formats. That was with Nero 6. So then I got a hold of NeroVision Express 3, that lets you make your own DVD splash screens, and it's pretty cool. So I mess with stuff and go to burn it and a message pops up saying my vid has more PAL content than NTFS. I was like okay... move along. So I pop a DVD in and it starts spinning away. 40 minutes later, it's just starting on the actual movie part, and blam, a runtime error. I chuck the now unusable DVD out and try it again, this time paying a bit more attention to the PAL thing. When I hit okay, it converted everything to PAL, whatever that is. This time, I had it convert everything to NTFS. 40 minutes later, same problem. Chucked out another DVD. And these things ARE EXPENSIVE. I just bought a DVD burner so I can do all this, and I have yet to find a program that can do it. .avi is like the most popular movie format out there besiges MPEG, what the hell? What does the rest of the world use to burn DVDs? :rtfm:

NTFS or NTSC? NTSC and PAL are 2 different video formats - you want NTSC.
