Need opinion on KB HOME

Hey, I just lost employment with Circuit City and wanted to take a new direction with my Career.

I've been though about 6 interviews/tests and KB Home must offered me a Job as a New home sales person.

I'd like to get everyone's opinion that has either bought, looked at, or worked at KB Home on how good the comapny is and if they take good care of their employees and customers.

This is in the Charlotte, NC area if it makes a difference, but I'd like to know bout the whole country.

It's paid training, but after that it's 100% commission and it takes about 6 months to build and close on a house so I'm not gonna have any money for about 7 months... I want to make sure I'm with a great comany before I make that kind of commitment.

Thanks alot!

www.kbhome.com

KB home is one of america's largest home builders, and france too!

income potential the fist year(b/c of the 6-7 month wait for your first check) is $50,000 and above $100,000 every year afterwards.

You're expected to sell a minimum of 4 homes a month

Full benefits

They supply you with the office, computer, supplies, advertising, and kitchen.

You have to walk each person though every step of the house... from contract, to site leveling, foundation pour, studding, roofing, drywalling.. Every Thing.

They use countrywide as their prefered morgage company(they use to have their own, but they sold too many homes to keep up with everything effectively)

They were featured on Extreme home makeover.

Fully customized homes. You pick out colors, materials, faucets, extra walls/rooms, roofing, windows, carpet, Every little detail is custom to the homebuyer. But all I have to do is sell the house, other people are paid to sell all the custom stuff.

Commission is on the base price of the house, so no matter what gets added on or upgrades my commission would be the same. This helps the buyers get what they need, not that makes the salesman more money.

True I'm sure, but they don't get as many sales.

That's what I'm hoping for!

No, in North Carolina they don't require a license for new construction. But if I want to work close to home I'll have to get a SC license.(I live on the border) Could make the difference in a 20 minute drive and 45 minutes.

damn! Upwards of $100,000 a year huh?

I make $40 just drawing lines on AutoCAD, I think I can sell a home. I can definately walk the customer through all the details of the foundation and building process. I have an A.A. in Architectural design and drafting.

^^^ you sure can! You spent 2 years to get that A.A., while you could've gotten your real estate license in 2 weeks!
