My Windshields Don't Like Me...HELP!

I've only had this car for almost 9 months and am already about to replace the windshield AGAIN!
This means that the car is already on its 3rd brand spanking new windshield- WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING WRONG?

Anyway, Does anybody know of any special something I can do to stop the cracks from getting bigger? I can't get it fixed until friday and the cracks keep getting bigger. I heard that the sun shining on it makes it worse, so I have left it in the shade...anything else?

The first was a rock and now I don't even know what it was, but its p!ssing me off already (as you can imagine!)

someone told me you can put superglue over a chip in the glass before it actually cracks and it should keep it from expanding. But I think once it starts to crack you cant do anything but replace it. sorry

DANM 3 already, where do you drive..lol

i dont think there's much you can do to prevent it but when you 1st get a chip in your sindshield take it to a shop that deals with windshield and they may be able to fix it, if its small.
they even have a kit you can buy to fix it yourself ( dont remember whats called or where i saw it) but it has to be small hole or crack to be able to be fix

but if you dont take care of crack fast the will get bigger and bigger.

Definitely as soon as you get a chip you need to get it fixed..most shops can heat the spot and fill it back in without costing to much.

I found out that the place I called would actually come to my work. Of course, I found that out AFTER it was unfixable.

Here's the link, I think they are located all over the US:

This one wasn't from driving- looks like someone hit it on purpose with a bottle or something (HATERS! lol) I'm dropping my car off tomorrow night at the same place that replaced the last one (it was a huge rock that hit that one )

I think I'm going to try the crazy glue thing- its completely obvious to me that it can't be repaired, its just that they dont have that window in stock until tomorrow and I can't even take it there until then - one of the cracks is taking up 1/2 the windshield alreay- on Monday is was only about 10 inches long, and now its double that at least.

Actually Carolyn, that exact place came to my job the last time - it would've been fixed for free, but of course it wasn't fixable! ([email protected]#&!!!)

In MA, windshields are covered under comprehensive insurance with no deductible.. do they have the same in jersey?

Well, they will try to fix it for free, BUT if it needs to be replaced I must pay whatever your deductible is, but its only $300 to replace, so its not worth going through them.

I'm in the same situation. My deductible is $500 so it's not worth going through insurance, as a result my windshield is still cracked. $200 extra laying around my house on my salary? hahahaha My plan is to replace it when I get down to TX.

I've heard from a couple of different resources that replacement windshields (aftermarket) aren't nearly as "hearty" as the factory installed windshields.

Anyone have anything to add to this one
