Ways to keep entertained during long road trips?

400 mile drive to get into Philly tomorrow (visiting the family), and another one in a week to get back here. As much as I love driving, these highway miles can drive a man insane.

I've burned a couple CDs for some driving tunes and thrown a case of Mountain Dew in passenger seat, but other than that, I'm just crusing away like I usually do. Anyone have any of their own tips?

Just make sure you have lots of cds. Sing to them and call people occasionally. In about 3 weeks I'm going to have 2 12 hour days of driving, 1800 miles, that's basically how I'll get through it, and got through it before. Lots of upbeat cds, singing, and hopefully finding someone with a radar detector to follow.

Ways to keep entertained during long road trips?

When you are the driver during long road trips, it is quite difficult to keep awake/entertained.

Definitely have several (at least 10-20) upbeat CDs that you can jam and sing to.

If you have a cell phone, call a few friends you haven't spoken to in awhile.

Can't watch DVDs so, that option is out (or at least should be).

My longest road trip was from Maryland to east of Atlanta, Georgia. It was about an 11 hour drive. Since I'm big on music, that is what kept me going for the most part. Plus, I talked on my cell phone to the people I was visiting for like a total of two hours throughout the whole road trip.

Good luck!

Yea the phone with plenty of minutes is nice because unlike acctually bringing a friend with you, you can turn them off when your tired of talking.

Counting games are difficult/dangerous when your driving.

My I-pod and a bag of wintergreen lifesavers is all I need.

yea food is a good way to keep occupied. Bring some low calerie/small junkfoods that you can munch on for a while, that should keep you goin.

I now own a 2008 350z Base MT

audio books. For me, they really make the time fly. They can be kind of pricey on CD, so I like to look in the used bookstores where they can be really cheap.

I also masturbate a lot on long trips. Just slip a sock over it and there's no mess. It doesn't eat up a lot of time, but it makes the trip more relaxing.

I think this is by far the best roadtrip entertainment. Unlike music you have to pay attention to the book so it keeps your mind stimulated. With music it always just drones on and I eventually get sleepy from listening to it.
