The Police in your area?

How's the police react to speeding and what looks to be reckless driving in your area?

Tonight I went to Cici's Pizza with my friend, going down a street where I have never before seen any cops. On the way there, there were none, but on the way back as I was taking a left onto that one street (doing about 30 as my friends eclipse GS-T was behind me making sweet turbo sounds) Anyway with the mazda's superb handling and my completely bare front tires my car stayed between the lines of the lane but my friend took the turn a bit sharply and was in the oncoming lane (there's not much traffic on that street so it's permitted) but luck would have it that there was a cop there. Ready to take a left himself from some business complex it seemed as though he had halted as if to wait to get behind us and pull us over because he had ample time to get ahead of us. So i look at how fast I'm driving and it was probably 5mph above the speed limit so I ease of the gas and continue driving playing close atention to the cop. Good thing I'm very aware of my surroundings otherwise I might not have noticed him as it was dark. Anyway he gets behind us and nothing happens! I thought for sure he would get us but he probably didn't care enough. So I pulled over into the mall that was just down the street and discussed this situation with my friend, then we laughed and drove our seperate ways... I was scared for a minute though lol.

Seems that the cops in my area tend to be fairly lenient, then again I may just be very lucky.

There was one time I was doing 70 down a street nearby (limit 45) only because the guy next to me was pushing the pedal so I was like what the heck let's see it. Up ahead though someone was doing 40 so I slowed down an 100 yards later there was a cop hiding on the median.

Another time on the way to school I was doing 60 in a 40 and a cop was hidden on the side in a lawn/garden place but he didn;t seem to care...

It seems like the mazda3 has too much Zoom-Zoom for cops... at least to this day....

And though I'm 17 I'm not one of those wreckless little teens driving around lane hopping and just doing stupid shit to appear to be cool. After many year of Gran Turismo I know how to drive precisely (not completely of course) but to a good degree. I like to call it Aggressive Precision.

I think you explained why insurance rates don't go down for men until they are 25.

Once I got pulled over in my bike for passing in the motorcycle lane. I wasn't speeding, but the cop said that I shouldn't be racing in that lane. No ticket 'cause the cop made himself out to be a fool when he said that the lane was there so motorcycles could pass cars.

IMO if you let them talk long enough eventualy they will talk themsleves out of giving you a ticket. I've been pulled over 20-30 times (some for 50+ over the limit) and have only recieved 3 tickets, one of which I got out of in court.

Horsepower is a lot like skill in that having more of one means you need less of the other. Luckily my car has lots of power...

Maybe your boy has some issues. 19 tickets in 3-4 years of driving?
