Math final im freaking out

Ok. Long story made short, math final in trigonometry, (math 4a), in college. 120 questions. Memorize 120 equations. We have completed 1200 points worth of work so far, and the final is worth 800. I suck at math. I am holding onto a 70% right now. Me = freaking out. HOW DO I GET THRU THIS?!?!??!

aww quik! good luck! maybe you should consider little note cards to help you out during the test? haha im jp, cheating is bad (lol although i do every once in a while)

if i were you i would just do a bunch of problems with the stuff that's gonna be on the test and once you have all that down then you should be fine. anyways, good luck!

well, you need 560 points to get a 70% in the class....so it sounds like you've got two options: cram as much as possible into your head and hope you pass OR master the shit out of 84 equations (70%) and don't fuck them up.

my long-term advice: the next time you're taking a class where you find yourself struggling, you go see the prof ASAP. Don't wait until the end of the semester. The profs are there to teach you. that's what you're paying them for. let me repeat that: YOU are paying THEM for a service. Go see them after class. If it's a large class there's probably at least 1 TA as well. They are there to help you too.

If you have a 70 then you either didn't do the work you were supposed to or you just don't get the material. The first one is your own fault, but the second is what the profs/TA's can help you with. But you have to make the effort.

one more thing...

if you fail the class, it doesn't mean shit. yeah, your GPA takes a hit but unless you're on some performance based scholarship it shouldn't matter too much if you did ok in the rest of your classes. you can just take it again. (unless your school has some wierd policy against it, which most don't)

Ok, but I want to transfer to a university after next year, so GPA is a biggie for me... I can retake the class if i get a D or an F...

Bum: Yes i can use a calculator, in fact we are required to bring it.

Is my plan good? The teacher gave us a review packet that will mirror the test closely so I will be concentrating on that. The hardest part for me is to remember all those equations and remember how to do all those problems. I plan on going back to each chapter and doing the homework from each to refresh me. Then I am going to just stare at those equations whenever i have free time, so that they are burned into my brain. How does that sound?

I have put forth full effort, but the fact is, is that my math teacher is an old geezer that doesnt know where he is most of the time, so it wouldnt do much help to go to him. Math is my weak subject, so i had to work hard to get to where I am at now . I usually have my friends help me with the math.. Practically they teach me every lesson. I will work as hard as i can for this final, i need it.

Out of all of those equations, there are probably only a few that you should memorize. Others, are most likely related in some form or another, and it'd be much easier to learn how they relate instead of memorizing them. Memorizing equations is a major pain in the butt. But I agree with Murph that you should concentrate on the major equations. Going over the review/practice packet with tooth and comb is a great way to study. I think if you can do those easily, you'll be good to go for the final. Most of the time, the Prof/teacher is telling the truth when they say the review resembles the exam. Do the review once... then look up the problems that you got wrong and study them. Then do the review again.

I hate trig. It can suck my toe-ah.
