Why Do Mods Lock So Many Threads?

i realize they're trying to save bandwidth (i guess) but i don't want to post in some old stale thread.....and i don't particularly want to read through old posts from people that aren't even on site anymore.

just my 2 cents

The more topics we have out there, the more digging you have to do to find an answer when you're looking for something! Why make a whole new post for the same topic? lol

you actually have to do more digging now because everytime you want to start a thread you have to search through hundreds of topics to make sure it hasn't been already covered. even when you do a search you can miss something and then you get your thread closed

^^^ Busy lives are fun I know its hard but I wont lock a thread if its just mentioned in another one...if its the exact same Topic as another thread yes..if its just mentioned in another thread Ill merely put a refernce to it and move on. No need to lock it.
