Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy

I can't wait to see this movie, it looks awesome, and funny. I never read the books though, and hear they are very entertaining and it's hard to put them down.

I have one question though. What is the connection with the pajamas and towels? A friend of mine is going to see a sneak preview tonight or tomorrow or something, and she is wearing her pj's and a towel. I don't get it.

My favorite books of all time are by Douglas Adams.

I'll be there opening night to say the least, towel in hand.

You just have to read the books to get the significance

42 the answer to life, the universe and everything, but remmeber they had to spend a millenia figuring out what question the answer answered (6by9)

and the towel is simply an extremely useful item, any good traveller knew where his towel was

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a GREAT book, and i can't wait for the movie wish douglas adams was alive to see it though

for those who have not read it--READ IT!

some of the greatest books EVAR. Also enjoyed Adams' Dirk Gently series. Long Dark Teatime of the Soul is my favorite book.

I will see the movie, and I will probably enjoy it but I'm really worried about how much they're going to screw with it.

I also recommend "Last Chance to See."

It's actually non-fiction, Adams' travels around the world to look at endangered and threatened species. A fantastic read, especially those who are ecologically minded.

As of now, I own every single book Adams has published, except "The Deeper Meaning of Liff"

Ebay should fix that one soon

I met Douglas Adams about 6 mo's before he died. Very sad.

Anyway, can't wait to see this, but I dunno who'll go with me.

My friend did indeed see the movie last night. And she said "Hitchhiker's = brilliant!

I had to use my towel to wipe away the tears of laughter."

So yeah. She's like a movie guru. If she says the movie is good. Then it's probably good. Not sure if she read this book though.
