Military Madness!!!
Hey. As you may have guessed from my name, I'm in the Navy. I am also a proud Submariner and soon to be Seabee Warrior.
I like to hear, or see, from others in the military, or those who have friends or family in the military.
I am very proud to serve my country, and grateful to those who do the same!
Any other Mazda Axela Forum surfers in the military? Where, what branch, what job? Got pictures?
Here are some pictures of my most recent tour in Hawaii.
Thanks!

I'm the one grimacing in back, second from left.

I was in the Navy. I served aboard the USS Cushing in Yokusuka,Japan from 96-00. Took the good with the bad but it was never a career for me. It did help me get my current job with the railroad though and now I make way more money than I ever did in the military

Hey Mustang... Why no number on the starboard side of the sail? I thought they were always on both sides.
Which boat is she?

Hey, Sidulator, I was in Yokosuka two times. We pulled in during our 2002 deployment, and again in 2004. Not too bad of a place to visit, but honestly, I wouldn't want to live there.
Unix, we typically don't put the numbers on the side of the sail of a submarine like a surface ship. Alot has to do with stealth. I've seen some put magnetic numbers on the side, but not too many.

I'm from a family of soldiers and sailors.
Dad 9 years Army enlisted (signals intelegence)
Mom 8 years AirForce enlisted (decryption)
Both uncles were in the service. One was a radio operator on a boomer, the other was an Airforce tech of some sort.
Grandpa served on a "tin can" before and during the Korean War.
I was going to follow in their footsteps. Did Navy JROTC and got a scholarship for the Air Force ROTC... but college got the best of me.
I certainly don't miss waking up early. But I do miss all the friends that went on to do that other stuff.
A few others served as well but I can't keep track of them all. I have a great uncle that retired as a Master Chief and trained new recruits for a few years...

Don't know what I was thinking then. I've seen some pics with them though. Must be the magnetic ones you mentioned.
So, can you say what boat she was?

Military Madness!!!
I've got 1 cousin in the Air Force, he's a mechanic, works on aircraft and fighter jets. He's currently stationed in Alaska, married, with a 2 and 1 year old. He seems to like it up there... just got word that he's coming home in july for a visit. That's all I got in the family in the military.
I've got to give credit to the guys who are in the military overseas, especially in Iraq and Afghanistan, and Middle East, cause it's just crazy what's going on over there. I don't agree with what Bush is doing so I think it takes alot for those soldiers be putting their lives on the line and serving their country regardless of what the President's plans are and what he's doing. Personally I think Iraq is a waste of time and it isn't a "war". I think it's just a movement to secure the last remaining oil on the earth in the middle east, sadly I think it's oil for blood, and I'll leave it at that so I don't offend anyone. And remember, this is all just my personal opinion and belief, so please don't take it the wrong way.

By the way, you would probably appreciate this one:

That cracked me up when I saw it, especially given the supposed mission of that boat.
