Teen killer of teacher was absorbed in video games

The 17-year-old boy who stormed into an elementary school in Neyagawa, Osaka, Japan on Monday and stabbed three adults, leaving one teacher dead, was absorbed in video games and liked games that involved killing people, one his former classmates revealed.
The 17-year-old, whose name has been withheld under the Juvenile Law because he is a minor, graduated from the school where he carried out the crime.
In his student yearbook he said he wanted to be a game creator. He added in a graduation essay that he wanted to be the editor of a weekly gaming magazine or a 3D-game designer.
"I don't care which high school I go to. I'll live in Tokyo by myself and when I graduate (from a technical college) I want to enter (a game company)," he wrote of his future. The student listed several names of schools and game software firms.
The reason for entering the game market, he said, was because there were people he respected in the game industry and "it would be fun," if he worked for a weekly magazine. "You get paid for it too," he said.
A second-year high school student who was a classmate of the teen killer in their elementary school days said the 17-year-old had often played video games.

.......of course most teen boys are into video games, and violent ones at that. I'm still not sure we can blame school violence exclusively on video games. Maybe some good old fashioned parenting would help.

Or, as one teacher of mine put it, this rather modern phenomena of school violence never occured before the addition of flouride to the drinking water. Let's blame that! ;-)

And we all know that before video games, NO BODY had any exposure to anything violent....

Let's sue Ford because a drunk driver in an F-150 ran someone over....

Even better, let's sue McDonalds because they made us fat!!

All of sudden, people just aren't allowed to be fuckin crazy or stupid anymore... it's always someone or something elses fault.

Eat right, exercise regularly, die anyway.

I believe that's already happened. Two fat girls sued McDonalds for exactly that very reason somewhere in NYS I believe, though I am not a hundred percent sure.

I've played endless hours of HALO2 (yes I'm ashamed) and I haven't killed a soul. Hope I'm not due for an outbreak. By they way if I play Mortal Kombat all day can I then freeze someone and smash them into ice cubes. Didn't think so. Videogames don't make you do a dang thing. If you have something loose upstairs one way or another your going to lose it.
