Serious Mp3 Player Dilemma, need answers fast!

So i have a iPod, but they are POS compared to other mp3 player's sound qualities, and this thing cost me my ass and my legs. I have a 4th gen 40gb ipod, but im looking for an mp3 player with at least 20 gigs, doesnt need to have photo, and has exceptional sound quality. Also, a decent song management program is a must. WHat do you guys recommend?

-Summary:
-20gb
-MUST HAVE Good quality sound
-Under or near $300
-MUST HAVE Good song management program
-ease of use is always good
-needs to be durable so that it doesnt fall apart in my hands

I have heard about the Creative Zen Xtra series as well as the Zen Touch, iRiver H320 (online only, which sucks), and the Dell DJ 20gb, how are those, and what do you recommend?

I dont want to be convinced to keep my ipod. Remember, Software is a MUST! iTUnes is the best editing program ever, just wish the iPod was up to par IMO.
I need the answers quickly because i gotta make my decision before tomorrow, before my warranty on my ipod runs out!

i'm just relaying info i found on another forum i frequent

Quote:
Rio Karma:
+Gapless playback on MP3 and OGG. One of very few (if not the only one) DAPs that can do gapless MP3 and OGG.
+20GB, for a really cheap price. Can be found around $200 nowadays.
+According to dapreview: good GUI and sound.
-Requires software to transfer music. Not UMS capable.

Are you talking sound quality when you output to your stereo? If so, do you use the headphone out jack or a seperate line out jack(you have to buy an adapter or car charger with line out). If you use the headphone jack, get a line out jack and use it before you give it up. You can try it and return the thing if it's not good.

I use a dock, which has a line-out... I tried both headphone jack and line-out, big difference, but not enough for me

I was under the impression that the sound quality of the i-Pod was industry leading....

I have a DJ and I love it. I think it sounds great but.. one man's trash is another man's treasure and vice versa.
