What's your definition of love?

Fidelity, sex, monogomy? Is it in your head or you heart?

I guess it's all subjective.... also, love for your nuclear family is different than love for a spouse/wife

anyway, if there are lots of conditions and caveats, it's probably not love.

its a emotional...its physical...its mental...

you give your whole self to another person--emotionally,mentally, physically and spirtually if you will...they see all your sides, your good, your bad, your ugly, and no matter what they see you through anything. you don't feel like yourself without that person, like part of your soul is missing.

I would agree with everything you just said except that last bit. I think if you really love the person then it would feel like a part of your soul is missing when you are NOT with that person.

Love is empathy. Love is feeling pain when your loved one is hurt, and feeling joy when your loved one is happy. glavie81's definition is more attachment than love to me. Attachment comes first, but as time progresses, that evolves into love -- when both parties understand each other beyond any doubt, and work together to achieve common goals in life through thick & thin. Love does not yield under any external influences or pressures, but remains true and loyal. Thus, it takes time to be able to truly "love" someone.

Also, you cannot truly entend your love to someone unless you wholly love yourself first. That is the main requirement of love.

I never thought of it that way. How very profound!

love is a feeling of how much you can tolerate each others negative points. The more you love someone, the more you can tolerate. To be truly in love with someone, you can take all the crap that they can dish out and not get annoyed/pissed off...oh tis true

Some people are much more patient or tolerant then others. So I would be inclined to disagree with your theory.
