Da speeders: Illinois pair cited 4 times in 1 day in Wisconsin
If you ever wanted to read about speeding Illinois drivers getting nailed, pull up a chair.

On New Year's Day, in the space of 3 hours and 6 minutes, a 2004 Nissan Altima with Illinois plates was pulled over for speeding four times in four Wisconsin counties, all on I-90.

On the first three stops, the driver was Piotr Pac, 21, of the Chicago suburb of Prospect Heights, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol.

But the top speed was reached by Pac's girlfriend, 18-year-old Emilia A. Goralczyk of neighboring Mount Prospect. She was the one ticketed the fourth time, as Pac had been taking a nap.

But, if you're about to squeal with glee, hold on.

Pac isn't happy about his $902 share of the $1,393 speeding tickets. But he wasn't embarrassed, either, when told Wednesday that he would be in the newspaper.

His first words were, "I'm famous!"

My old room mate used to live in Mount Prospect... I'll have to forward that link over to him!

Unless you're speeding through a state that uses Lidar on the highways... like NY! Sneaky bastards...

This is nothing new. There has always been an underlying dislike between people from Wisconsin and Illinois. A good friend of mine recieved a ticket from a Wisconsin Forest Preserve cop for doing 30 in a 25. My friend is a firefighter, and used to be a cop, but was unable to get a break.
The fine was $131. Unbelievable.

Regardless of any animosity between Sconi and Illinois folk, the jackasses in that article were speeding excessively. Your friend, on the other hand, wasn't speeding. In NY, you can pretty much get away with doing 10 over the limit. After that you get zinged.

$131 for going 5 over is extortion.

I agree this was an asshole driver and he deserved what he got. I also have heard numerous other stories of how hard Wisconsin coppers are on people from Illinois.

Wow, he's lucky he got the tickets in Wisconsin. In Illinois I believe if you get 3 tickets within a year's time, you lose your license. I know you have to go to court for it. Not sure what happens when you're out of state and get the tickets. I think it depends on if the state you get your ticket(s) in reports them to your state of residence. Then, they'd be applied against your record. Anyone know how this works? Sounds like the guy needs to get a clue and get off the road! Great story.
