Damn there's a lot of MMORPG's out there

OK so I'm bored with my life right now and looking for something new to do, and I figure picking up a new computer game couldn't hurt. I was looking at different MMORPG's (among other things) but there's so many out there... who's got something to recommend?

I'd prefer one that involves some sort of empire building and such, not just using a single player and building up traits/etc.

haha, I have a KoL account... haven't used it in a while.

I was looking at WoW, but that's really just your standard EQ type game it seems... you're a character, you go around and do crap, gain traits... occassionally maybe intereact with others I dunno, I might try it, but we'll see. Looking for other options.

What's an Xbox have to do with anything? If I play Halo 2 one more time I think I'm going to have to kill myself.

What's FFXI?

I would say go for WoW or Star Wars Galaxies.

I know some hard core EverCrack fans switch to WoW because it's so much better apparently.

I used to play City of Heroes...it was cool for the first like month and a half but after that it became very repetitive.

I think it's Final Fantasy. And in my opinion you can't go wrong with Command and Conquer.

I played EQ for five years and EQ2 for the first two months. I left both for World of Warcraft. The graphics are bit beefier than EQ but not as advanced as EQ2.

EQ2 is a memory hog and the system requirements are a bit crazy for the average gamer. I'm running a P4 2.4GHz 1 gig ram and an ATI 9800 pro 128. EQ2 ran fine but WOW runs better.

If you go with WoW do yourself a favor. Get on a low populated server and hope pray it doesn’t become popular. I'm sitting in a queue at #978 on Blackrock as I type...
