How Much does Alcantara cost?

I was wondering, because I love the feel of Alcantara between my fingers, say of a steering wheel.

I was thinking how much that would run me up by. I wouldn't mind wrapping my stock steering wheel in Alcantara (with added bolsters.. see pic)

Any ideas? Thoughts?

I love the leather on our wheels. I think about how sweet it is all the time.

Maybe im a little confused but I thought Alcantara looks pretty much just like leather, that steering wheel looks like suede to me. I thought suede was the best for sports steeringwheels/seats because its a lot grippier than leather.

Well according to the BMW USA site, it is Alcantara. It is featured on some MOMO hardware like shift knobs and steering wheels.

I guess swede would be a better choice. If I would undertake such a project would adding a "bolster" such as the one featured on the BMW, be hard to do?

Thanks for opinions/thoughts.

Alcantara isn't suede. Having suede on the steering wheel isn't such a good idea since it will wear down into a slippery leather finish and become a hazard. I've never seen alcantara being sold seperately or as a wheel cover but that would definately be a good mod if you can pull it off. As for the rest of you that thinks it looks cheap........just go to a bmw dealership and take a look at it and try feeling it.
